ABOUT US
VGS, the steel arm of Vulcan Green, is a newly established entity backed by the esteemed Jindal Group of Companies, India’s oldest and largest steel family with an illustrious 50-year history in steelmaking.
Strategically located in the Al Wusta region of the Sultanate of Oman, VGS is set to be a ground-breaking greenfield steel complex with an initial capacity of 3 MTPA in Phase 1. Situated in Duqm, its location benefits from exceptional solar and wind profiles making it an ideal choice.
VGS is proud to be a sister company to Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel (JSIS), which is also based in Oman. Together, we form a powerful and sustainable force in the steel industry, scaling up already existing high standards processes in DRI and casting technologies.
At VGS, decarbonization and sustainability lie at the heart of our operations. We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the industry, and this forms a significant part of Jindal Group of Companies’ agenda. The rapid implementation of climate-neutral actions is a key priority for us.
